ABOUT US
We’re a different breed.
Beacon. A different breed of care.
What kind of person understands a cat has as much right to your personal space as you do?
And that the best dog kisses are wet dog kisses.
What breed of human believes in the healing powers of modern medicine and old-fashioned snuggles?
And that every treatment plan begins with empathy for everyone.
You. Us.
Yes, we do things a little differently.
Because differently is where healing thrives, and innovation begins.
Our doors like our hearts are always open.
That’s the kind of people we are.
Together, we’re a different breed.

Not at all! As a strictly walk-in emergency hospital, we treat patients on a triage basis. While not required, we appreciate a call ahead so we can prepare for your pet's arrival and expedite check-in.
-
We understand that waiting can be a concern, especially when it involves your pet's well-being. If you're worried, please know that we share your concern and encourage you to bring your pet to Beacon as soon as possible. Rest assured, we're here for you 24/7.
Upon arrival, one of our veterinary professionals will promptly assess your pet to determine their needs. We're committed to keeping you informed about the next steps, including any expected wait times.
If your schedule requires you to drop off your pet, we can accommodate that and will contact you with updates on the next steps. If you choose to stay, we'll do everything possible to ensure both you and your pet are comfortable during your wait.

We are proud to offer three competitive forms of financing to make emergency veterinary care as accessible as possible. Beacon currently accepts All Pet Card, Care Credit, and Scratch Pay. Many of our doctors are comfortable treating exotic pets. However, our doctors have varying schedules, so we recommend calling ahead of your visit. We will discuss your pet and their emergency with the doctor on staff to ensure we are the best option for your needs. Please note, we do not see primates of any kind and recommend the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine for any primate care needed.

If you are concerned about your pet, so are we, and we recommend coming to Beacon as soon as possible. We are open 24/7, year-round, and always ready to assist. While we are happy to address any questions or concerns over the phone, visiting in person provides the most peace of mind regarding your pet's health.
